InfernoMotorsports tested both super late model cars this
past weekend , Joe and Robert tested all day saturday
and Robert continued testing all day Sunday.
After 4 test sessions on saturday for each car and after
making lots of changes to both cars we found the new track
tire harder then expected. Joes car was much better.
Both drivers felt the cars never felt like they got fully into the
racetrack , so, after taking the cars back to the shop and
much debate , we decided to take Robert and the 2 car
back to the track on sunday for another full day of testing.
There was nothing left in the shop or trailer that we did not
throw at the 2 car Sunday , new springs, shocks, moved roll
centers , upper arms, lower arms , lead , caster , camber ,
rear roll center and finally when all was said and done we
picked up 5 tenths .
The driver said he felt the car was great some laps and then
changed , then back again , he said could not figure it out,
after we returned to the shop the driver mentioned that he
thought he felt and piece of lead move in the rail once , so,
we put he car on the lift and pulled the lead out of the left
outer rail and found nothing loose , we then pulled the lead
out of the left inner rail and found the lead in place on the
forward portion , BUT , when we pulled the rear rail cover
the lead was not where it belonged , the inner rail did not
have the lead stops in place, for the entire 2 day session there
was 2 pieces (a 34 lb and a 43 lb ) sliding fwd and back
in the rail so depending on where the lead was at the time
determined how the car handled. Thats been fixed !!
We put the car back on the scales and found our best
location for the lead.
The cars are now ready ,
Stay tuned ....
